For You and Your Children!

Children at Oasis

At Oasis, kids count!  It is our desire to provide a safe, clean and enriching environment that parents can trust. We want you to have the utmost confidence in our trained staff and excellent teachers.  We place high value on our ministry to our children, and, because of that, many of the people of Oasis are actively involved in the training your child receives!

During our worship, our kids ages 3 through 10 are invited to enjoy the music and worship time with their parents.  Then, during the message time for the adults, the children are welcome to leave their Rock Solid experience.

Our main education time for your children happens at 6 PM on Sunday evenings at our Desert Streams Family Center.  We call it Rock Solid Discovery Time!  When something of importance happened in the Old Testament, many times God would have the people would build a pillar of rocks as a reminder to tell their kids what had taken place there.  In the same way, we want to pass on the legacy of faith to our children!  Rock Solid provides a fun, hands-on learning experience where your child will be introduced to Bible stories and truths, find out how to enter into a relationship with God, and have the chance to make lifelong friends.

In our Rock N’ Tots Nursery, infants and toddlers through age 2 receive quality adult childcare on both Sunday mornings and evenings.  Our trained volunteers share lots of love with your child.

On the first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the family at Oasis!  We think it’s important for our kids to see their parents enjoying church!  So our kids are invited on Family Sunday to experience the entire worship time with their parents.  (Rock N’ Tots will still be available on these days.)  On those days, we’ll do some special activities with our children in mind.

Teens at Oasis

We love our teenagers at Oasis!  The youth here aren't considered an annoyance or an afterthought.  Instead, we believe that our teens can and should have an active and meaningful role in the life of our community.  From worship to service, you'll find teens involved in almost every level of our programs at Oasis.

We want our youth to be able to handle the pressures they deal with daily by developing a strong community of fellow believers who will encourage them along the way, and by instilling a Christian worldview by which they make their life decisions.  Our Sunday morning worship time, both in the message and the music, is designed not just with the adults in mind, but with an eye to the teenagers as well.  Then, on Sunday evenings, we provide an interactive teen class at 6 PM that gives them opportunity to explore life issues from a biblical viewpoint.

And that's not all!  The youth gather to worship together on Tuesday nights and share with each other in a small group setting.  Other activities such as volleyball. swimming, ultimate frisbee and the like, provide great opportunities for the kids to make friendships that will last a lifetime!

 Adults at Oasis

Doing life together.  That describes the way we view our relationship with each other at Oasis.  We believe that we really do need each other: for support, encouragement, training, and to look out for each other!

We place great emphasis on helping people become mature followers of Jesus, becoming like Him in our character and actions.  We believe that happens best as we immerse ourselves in the study of God’s Word and allow Him to change us as we interact with His truth.  You can experience that in a couple of different places at Oasis.  Our message on Sunday mornings is always from the Bible and is geared toward helping us both understand what God has to say to us there and apply it to the relationships and events of our lives.

But that’s not all!  Oasis also provides opportunity for personal study of the Bible through women’s, men’s and co-ed groups we call Community Groups!  These give us a chance to study God’s Word on our own, get some input to give us a better grasp of what’s being said, and then discuss it with others who are coming to grips with the passage as well.  No prior knowledge of the Bible is necessary!  Beginners are welcome here!  Check the Welcome Table for dates and times of these studies.

And even that’s not all!  Men and women’s retreats, special workshops on practical faith issues, and participation in events like Promise Keepers help all of us become more like Jesus.

Friends and family—that pretty well sums up what we want to see developed among us.  To that end, we provide tons of opportunities for you to get to know each other better and provide the foundation for a deep, trusting friendship. Potlucks, softball teams, games nights, women’s luncheons and men’s breakfasts, D-Backs outings—join in and meet some new friends!
